Business Problem
One of America's leading home and business security companies needed to easily and accurately service certain business accounts. A problem was realized that in order to service certain accounts there was a requirement to have access to chronological events and activities along with the individual that had taken action on the account. To gain access to that information, a formal work request had to be submitted and custom queries developed to capture the requested information. This occurred approximately 200 times per calendar month. This process was overly burdensome and time consuming to the user.

Strategy
After assessing the problem and situation, the Casey Group developed a strategy to create a web-based application that would empower the business user to access the required information at will and without the administrative burden the incumbent system imposed on them.

Solution
The Casey Group undertook an initiative to analyze a year’s worth of requests and the required data. This comprised the basis for data transfers between the mainframe repository and the web server that would satisfy 99% of all typical user requests. Thereafter, the necessary code was developed both in the mainframe and web environments to create and implement the application.

Results
With the solution in place, access was given to the client’s business community at large. The initial hit rate was approximately 1000-1500 per month. Since its roll out three years ago, the monthly hit rate has grown to well over 20,000 per month.

Today
The business clients’ acceptance and reliance on the application has grown exponentially over time and has been widely accepted as a requirement of daily job function.

Future
The forward-looking design of this application met all existing requirements while allowing for future growth that has been twenty-fold to date.
