Case Study
Improving Customer Experience and Inventory Management
Business Problem
As the only family and minority owned duty free business in North America, our client took pride in offering the very best airport shopping experience to it's customers. They believed this experience should include an online presence.
Faced with industry regulations that prohibit online sales, our client wanted to create a web presence that was both industry compliant and also informative to consumers and prospective airports.
Growing the company and expanding it's reach into other airports translated into a need to showcase it's capabilities and create an online business application for the duty free community.
Strategy
The Casey Group took the time to learn the intricacies of the duty free world. Listening to our client's short term and long term business goals and objectives allowed The Casey Group to best formulate a business to consumer and a business to business strategy that would best communicate and position our client as a player in the marketplace. The online presence needed to address the consumer community as well as showcase the business side.
Solution
The Casey Group developed a web site that could be integrated with our client's back end inventory system. Targeting the consumer market; the site showcased the consumer product line and luxury brand names as well as an airport locator and added value content for the traveler. Since the consumer is not allowed to actually make online purchases, the Casey Group developed a tool that would allow the shoppers planning to visit the retail location to select its merchandise and have it ready and waiting for them when they arrived at the airport.
Expanding the duty free retail market to reach other airport terminals is also an integral part of our client's business strategy. With this in mind the Casey Group built a section dedicated to educating the business markets on the client's philosophy, revenue opportunities and style.
Results
Challenged by the unique retail environment of a duty free retail organization, The Casey Group created an online presence for the company that represented the our client's goals and objectives. Through its close collaboration with our client, The Casey Group developed solutions that enabled our client to better use online channels while still complying with regulatory requirements.
